We’re a Mexican couple who grew up bajo el sol de casa 🇲🇽, never imagining that life would bring us 4,000 km north. But in 2020 — in the middle of uncertainty, and one unexpected work opportunity — we packed our dreams, our courage, and our two wiener dogs, and started again in Canada 🇨🇦
It wasn’t part of the plan… but it became one of the best chapters of our lives!
Over the last five years, this beautiful country has shaped us with resilience, growth, and gratitude. It’s also where our daughter was born — our little Canadian girl — who taught us more about strength than we ever thought possible. At just eight months old, she underwent kidney surgery, and that journey changed us forever. It softened us, stretched us, and reminded us of the power of community, compassion, and hope.
Then, in summer 2025, another curveball came our way: massive layoffs affected our family, pushing us into a new season of reinvention.
Instead of fear, we chose purpose. Instead of waiting, we chose create.
And just like the giant cactus 🌵 that stands tall in our family home in Mexico — blooming season after season, rooted deeply, and carrying both resilience and beauty — our story is grounded in that same spirit. Standing strong through change. Growing in unexpected places. Blooming even when life gets tough.
And so, 🌵 Mitoteland was born.
A project woven with cariño, gratitude, and the desire to honour both of our homes — México y Canadá. A little tiendita that celebrates community, culture, flavour, joy, and the beautiful blend that defines our MexiCanadian Familia 🇲🇽🇨🇦
From the Mitoteland Familia to yours: GRACIAS for being part of this chapter.
It means more than you know! 💛
